UNSCની 2028–29 બેઠક માટે ભારત સામે તાજિકિસ્તાનની દાવેદારી.

નવી દિલ્હી/ન્યૂયોર્ક, 30 સપ્ટેમ્બર: સંયુક્ત રાષ્ટ્ર સુરક્ષા પરિષદ—UNSCની 2028–29ની non-permanent membership માટે Asia-Pacific Groupમાં ભારત અને તાજિકિસ્તાન વચ્ચે સ્પર્ધા ઊભી થઈ છે. દેશે અગાઉથી 2028–29 માટે દાવેદારી જાહેર કરી હતી અને Organisation of Islamic Cooperation—OICએ પણ તેની candidatureને સમર્થન આપ્યું છે. ભારતે Global Southનો અવાજ, reformed multilateralism, future-ready peacekeeping, AI misuse સામે સુરક્ષા, maritime security અને terror financing સામે કાર્યવાહી જેવા મુદ્દાઓને પોતાના campaign priorities તરીકે રજૂ કર્યા છે. આ સ્પર્ધા UNSCની Asia-Pacific non-permanent seat માટે છે; ભારતની લાંબા ગાળાની અલગ માંગ UNSCમાં permanent membership અને Council reform માટે યથાવત છે.
